The causes of male infertility
Male infertility is usually the effect of many accumulating factors.
Medical observations indicate that the quality of semen has been constantly decreasing, which is attributable to pollution of the environment, personal lifestyle, diet or consumed substances. Even anabolic steroids, which are used by men to promote muscular mass, can cause infertility since they inhibit the production of sperm cells.
The most frequently encountered problems concerning male infertility are:
- Improper ejaculation volume, i.e. aspermia
- Improper sperm cell count, i.e. azoospermia
- Decreased sperm cell mobility, i.e. asthenozoospermia
- Incorrect sperm cell morphology, i.e. teratozoospermia
- Decreased sperm cell survivability, i.e. necrospermia
- Elevated white blood cell count, i.e. leukocytospermia
